About joy brown
words of joy

Her name, “Joy,” says it all!
Joy Brown has been referred to as “a program planner’s dream.”
As an author and speaker, she desires to help lead people into
a meaningful relationship and joyful fellowship with Jesus Christ.

Joy and her husband, Wayne Brown, served in various churches for 40 years,
including First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for 15 years.
In 2008, they moved back to Myrtle Beach after serving for five years as pastor
of First Baptist Church in Boone, North Carolina.
They established Diversified Ministries for outreach in missions and evangelism.

They also have enjoyed interim pastorates:
Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church of Loris, South Carolina;
Olyphic Baptist Church of Olyphic, North Carolina;
First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina;
First Baptist Church of Florence, South Carolina;
Pleasant View Baptist Church of Nichols, South Carolina;
and they currently are ministering at
First Baptist Church of Whiteville, North Carolina in the Transitional Pastorate.

The Browns have two daughters, Meri Beth (married to Thomas Howard)
and Molly (married to Christman Howard), and three grandchildren on earth
and two they will meet one day in heaven.
Joy beams as she talks about her “little loves,”
Ty (13), Mazi Grace (13), and Bronson (11).

Joy’s messages are biblically-based and inspirational,
with a strong emphasis on the Hebrew context of the New Testament scriptures.
She longs to see revival sweep across the world,
beginning in the hearts of believers and awakening churches.

Joy writes and teaches extensively on biblical nutrition and its application for today’s world.

Finding Joy: 70 Life Lessons Along the Way, is a collection of insightful and encouraging devotionals that originated as a weekly series of Facebook posts. The author describes them as being “seasoned with grace and peppered with humor.” The topics are varied and range from faith and hope to taming the tongue and preparing for the coming King.

What others are saying about Finding Joy:

I feel I must warn you about reading Joy Brown’s new book, Finding Joy: 70 Life Lessons Along the Way, because if you start it, you won’t want to put it down. It’s filled with fresh insights, thoughts that stand out on the page and touch the soul, and moments that will inspire you to dig deeper into your walk with Christ. I highly recommend this book! Michelle Cox, author of When God Calls the Heart: Devotions from Hope Valley, When God Calls the Heart at Christmas, and Just 18 Summers.

These life lessons will capture your heart and your attention. You'll be excited to read more than one lesson at a time and always anxious to get back into the book to experience another of Joy Brown's insights. In each of the lessons, you'll "find a way to make each day on this earth an extraordinary day."

A note from Joy C. Brown:

Exciting news! Wayne’s book entitled I Kiss You with a Prayer! is now available. It is based on a poem he wrote for our daughters, Meri Beth and Molly, when they were little girls. Each night, he would stop by their room, kneel beside their beds, pray for them as they slept, then kiss their foreheads. That practice led to the writing of the poem. It was illustrated by the amazing artist, April Bensch. My sister, Lynn Sisk, who is an accomplished musician, has written a beautiful song based on the book. I can hardly wait for you to hear it! All proceeds from direct sales
of the book go into Diversified Ministries.
Congratulations, Wayne. I’m so proud of you!
